I aggressively represent my clients, and I always try to get the best results for them. Sometimes that means getting the case dismissed, a charge reduced, or getting an acquittal at trial. Other times, it means working out a deal so that my client not only avoids incarceration, but can actually get some services provided for them. If you’ve been charged with a crime, call Tulsa criminal defense attorney Stephen Cale at 918-771-7314 to schedule your free initial consultation. You’ll also get a free defense strategy plan designed just for your case.

In Tulsa County, there are programs designed for women alone, or for both men and women who have been charged with a crime. Those programs include Veterans’ Treatment Court, Drug and DUI Court, Community Sentencing, and Female Offender Diversion. Some possible benefits include: No jail or prison time; no felony conviction, dismissal of your case; support and treatment to live a sober life; job and GED assistance; and financial, transportation, food, and clothing assistance.

VETERANS TREATMENT COURT

This program is available to men and women who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces or are current service members, and have a substance abuse and/or mental health issue. Individualized treatment programs include, but are not limited to, regular and random drug testing, frequent court appearances to monitor progress, and group and/or individual counseling. The program is designed for those veterans and service members charged with misdemeanors or non-violent felonies. If you are a veteran or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and you’ve been charged with a crime, call Tulsa criminal defense attorney Stephen Cale at 918-771-7314.

DRUG AND DUI COURT

This is a court-supervised program that provides an alternative to incarceration. It is for certain non-violent felony offenses. The program addresses addiction and how to avoid being a repeat offender. Among other things, participants must attend court regularly, attend treatment sessions, and be subject to random drug testing. This program can help a client avoid hefty terms of jail or imprisonment. If you’ve been charged with a drug or alcohol-related crime, call Tulsa criminal defense attorney Stephen Cale at 918-771-7314 to schedule your free initial consultation. Attorney Cale will discuss whether fighting the charge, plea negotiation, or Drug/DUI Court is right for you.

COMMUNITY SENTENCING

This program is open to non-violent offenders who have one or more prior felony cases. It is popular with property crimes, moderate risk drug or alcohol crimes, and applications to revoke or accelerate. There are some monthly fees for this program. Probation officers monitor compliance with reports to the court, and assist in referrals to community-based resources. Treatment and supervision plans are tailored to the offender. Participants are required to attend substance abuse, mental health, or cognitive behavioral treatment to address criminal behaviors. If you’ve been charged with a crime, call the Cale law office at 918-771-7314 right away to schedule your free initial consultation.

FEMALE DIVERSION PROGRAM

This program is for non-violent female offenders, whether they have a prior felony conviction or not. Participants in this program remain in the community and are required to attend counseling and outpatient drug and substance abuse treatment. In some instances, financial assistance is available for transportation, living or medical expenses. The program includes intensive supervision and regular home visits. Treatment services include substance abuse treatment and counseling; mental health assessments and outpatient or inpatient treatment; behavioral services; trauma counseling; family reunification; domestic violence education and training; and life and job skills training. The court sentences the defendant to female diversion program as a conditioned of a deferred or suspended sentence. Both deferred and suspended sentences are a type of probation. At the conclusion of a deferred sentence, the case will be dismissed and the matter is not legally a conviction. With a suspended sentence, a defendant will remain on probation for a certain amount of time. However, at the end of that time, the matter is still a conviction. You can find out more about the Female Diversion Program here.

Some of these programs exist in other counties as well. At the Cale law office, we strive hard to get the best possible result for our clients. The first thing that we try to do this to see whether or not we can get a case dismissed. We do this by filing a discovery motion and setting pretrial hearings to get evidence thrown out or the charge outright dismissed. Other times, the evidence is stacked squarely against the client. When this happens, it is often best to work out some kind of deal with the DAs office. But working out a deal doesn’t always mean that the client has to go to jail or prison. The Cale law office looks to see whether there are programs that can help the client live a better life.

Programs like the ones mentioned above are a great way to help the person as a whole. With counseling provided through the programs, the underlying cause of a person’s criminal behavior may be eliminated. They also set the client on the path to a better life.
